#ByrogueLoves NICHOLAS JOLLY: FINGERPRINTS
Talented French artist, Nicholas Jolly’s work captures our attention with its hypnotic aesthetic and dreamy compositions.
From afar his series of art work titled ‘Fingerprints’ looks as if it was created using carefully placed fingerprints but upon closer inspection it can be seen that Nicholas uses a cross-hatching method of line drawing that describes light and shadow. The representation of light utilizes the white or openness of the page, while shadow is created by a density of crossed lines to create these beautifully dynamic drawings.
His technique adds so much life and dimension to his drawings despite the absence of colour, taking inspiration from Van Gogh and his whorl patterns.
