#ByrogueLoves JESSICA DANCE
Jessica Dance is a London-based Art Director, Model Maker & Prop Stylist with a very unique eye. Having worked with the likes of Vogue, Google and Topshop as well as collaborating with photographers, artists and filmmakers, it’s clear that, despite the uniqueness of her craft, Jessica is able to create imagery that caters to any brief.
She has an incredible eye for detail and puts great time an effort into her work, whether it be whether it be creating installations for a shop window that included over 1000 hand scored paper feathers or constructing a paper island to be featured as a set for an advert.
Amidst all of her great work, one thing that managed to catch our attention is a series she did in collaboration with photographer Davis Sykes, appropriately names ‘Comfort Food’. In this project, Jessica knitted a selection of Britain’s favourite comfort food ranging from a full English to a burger and chips. What we love is the added detail down to the burn marks on the sausages and the unsymmetrical fried egg. This collection has a very clean aesthetic with a smooth looking finish and vivid colours, not typically associated with knitted products, which tend to be soft and fluffy looking. These, on the other hand, could very well be mistaken for actual dishes if spotted from afar.
We’re looking forward to seeing what Jessica has in store in the future! You can find out more about her here and on her blog
